Rugged labels that will last in all elements

Some labels will need to go into the harshest of environments and last a prolonged period of time. Some applications may be temperature restricted, meaning that they need to withstand extremely high temperatures, for example inside an oven. They could also need to go into a very cold environment, such as an industrial freezer. There may be certain environments where the label will be exposed to oils, harsh chemicals and abrasion. An example of this is in a hospital or on a ship. Furthermore, some labels also need to be able to take hard knocks and forceful scratches.

There are labels available to meet all of the above criteria; they are extremely hard wearing and last a long amount of time. A type of printing that produces this kind of label is called under-surface printing. This means that you print on the reverse side of a thick material, making the print nearly impossible to reach without excessive force. You would ensure that you use a durable material, such as a Polycarbonate which does not rip and has a wide temperature range. Finally, you would combine this with a strong adhesive, such as one from 3M, to ensure that the label stays on the given substrate.

With so many tech devices being damaged nowadays it is a great idea to have a rugged smartphone. With most having large touchscreen displays it is very easy to drop and break your phone. A cracked screen can make your prized, expensive device look bad, whilst it could also limit the functionality of the phone too. With some flagship phones costing as much as £1,000 nowadays, it is important to protect your device and avoid a costly bill. The market-leading smartphones at the moment are the iPhone XS, the Google Pixel and the Samsung Galaxy S9 handsets.

Many people would put a durable case onto their phone, but some do not like the feel of this and think that it is too bulky. Some cases are also very expensive, costs up to £50.00 for some leather flip cases. Ulefone is launching a new device called the ‘Armor 6’ which is being marketed as a rugged phone that does not need a case and has enough bulk to protect itself. Other companies have made phones like this before, but not with a touchscreen. The phone has a 6.2-inch display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB internet storage (extendable to 256GB with a MicroSD card). It also has a 64-bit octa-core processor and a 5,000 mAh battery that you can charge wirelessly.
